What is Shuffles?
Shuffles, a new iOS app from Pinterest that enables users to create interactive collages and moodboards, is attracting a lot of attention. Invite-only (for now), is it the next great social media platform, or just another tool?
Despite the lack of fanfare, the “new app designed for collective collaging” is already gaining popularity. It has a long waitlist of eager users. Shuffles was added to the App Store in early August 2022.
All of the features that one would find on a standard social media platform, including a content feed, hashtags, and a search bar, are included in Shuffles. What makes it different, however, is its collage-making capability.

In addition to several intriguing features for creating interactive and engaging collages on your iPhone, such as:
Any aspect of a collage on Shuffles can be made interactive and clickable. Adding a link pin to your collage provides an easy way to move users from the app to an external website or Pinterest account.
Users can send collages created on Shuffles directly to Pinterest with all effects, animations, and links intact. They can also export collages as images and share them across other networks.
Interactive content provides a great new opportunity for social media marketers to engage with their audiences and drive traffic from the app to their websites. App Links and ReShuffles, the two main features that enable this, are critical.
The Reshuffle Feature
ReShuffles allow users to remix other content they’ve discovered on Shuffles. For marketers, this may be the most fascinating feature. More remixes mean more visibility, links, and traffic, so this may be the most fascinating feature.
The success recipe for producing content designed for remixing and sharing is on any social platform.
ReShuffles offer an excellent opportunity for user-generated content, particularly in the form of contests and giveaways. It also provides a unique method for getting new products or services into the spotlight with user-generated content.
Although the Shuffles in-app audience will be very limited while it is still in invite-only beta, its integration with Pinterest provides 433 million active monthly users with a good opportunity to expand their social media audience. Getting an invite is absolutely necessary for anyone who is already using Pinterest as part of their social media strategy.
Is Shuffles enough to live up to its billing as a full-blown social network and a collaging tool?
It’s hard to say how much of a chunk the app will eat out of the competition or how long until other platforms copy its unique features.
Once you’ve signed up for Shuffles, let them know if you want to join the waiting list for the iOS and Android app. You can then fine-tune collages once the app is open to the public.
